Emochi AI Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Emochi AI operates the website at emochi.run and the companion chat experience available through it. Wherever this policy says “we”, “us” or “Emochi AI”, it means the team responsible for that service. Wherever it says “you”, it means the adult visitor reading this page.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the pages on emochi.run, the chat interface, our email replies to you, and any billing that happens through our checkout partners. It does not cover websites that we link to, app stores, or services you sign into separately.

3. Adults only

Emochi AI is available to people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly gather information from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and remove the associated data without waiting for a request.

4. Information you give us

To open an account you provide an email address and a password, and you may add a display name. Everything else is optional: age range, country, preferred language, and the interests you want your companion to know about. You can leave those blank and still use Emochi AI.

5. Conversation content

Messages you send to a companion are stored so the conversation can continue where it left off. That includes text you type, voice notes you record, images you upload and the reactions you leave. Treat a chat like a note you are keeping: only put in what you are comfortable having stored.

6. Technical information

Our servers record standard request data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, timestamps and error traces. This is what lets us block abuse, fix breakages and understand why a page loaded slowly for someone in a particular country.

7. Payment information

If you buy a subscription, card details are entered on a page hosted by our payment partner and are never stored on Emochi AI servers. We keep only the outcome of the transaction: plan name, amount, currency, date, last four digits and status.

8. Why we use your data

We use it to run your account, deliver replies from your companion, keep her memory consistent, prevent fraud and abusive behaviour, answer support tickets, process payments, meet legal obligations and improve the parts of the product people actually use.

9. Legal grounds

Where the law requires a stated basis, ours are: performing the contract you entered when you created an account; our legitimate interest in security and product quality; your consent for optional communications; and compliance with legal duties.

10. Companion memory

The “memory” of an Emochi AI companion is simply a stored summary of the facts you shared in your own chats. It is scoped to your account. It is not pooled with other users, and it is removed when you delete the relevant conversation.

11. Cookies and similar tools

We set a small number of cookies: one to keep you signed in, one to remember interface preferences such as language, and one to keep security tokens valid. You can clear them in your browser at any time, though you will be signed out when you do.

12. Analytics

We measure aggregate behaviour — how many people opened a page, which sections were read, where errors occurred. These reports work on counts and trends, not on the content of your conversations.

13. Marketing messages

Emochi AI sends transactional email such as receipts and password resets. Anything promotional is opt-in, appears no more than a few times a month, and carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

14. Service providers

We rely on outside providers for hosting, content delivery, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring and language processing. Each receives only the data needed for its task, works under contract, and may not use your data for its own purposes.

15. What we never sell

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, your chat history or your companion preferences. We do not hand your conversations to advertising networks, brokers or affiliates for money or for exposure.

16. International transfers

Emochi AI serves visitors worldwide, so data may be processed in a country other than yours. Where required, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent recognised safeguard.

17. How long we keep data

Account records are held while your account exists. Conversations are held until you delete them or close the account. Payment records are held for the period tax law requires. Technical logs rotate out within ninety days unless retained for an open security investigation.

18. Security measures

We use encrypted transport, encryption at rest for stored conversations, hashed passwords, restricted internal access, activity logging on administrative tools and regular dependency reviews. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.

19. Deleting your chats

Every conversation has a delete option. Once used, the messages disappear from your account immediately and are purged from our backups within thirty days. The companion loses the memory that came from that conversation.

20. Closing your account

You can close your Emochi AI account from your settings or by writing to us. Closure removes your profile, your preferences and your conversations, keeping only the minimum billing and abuse-prevention records the law obliges us to retain.

21. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask for a copy of your data, correct inaccurate details, delete what we hold, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and receive your data in a portable format.

22. How to make a request

Write to hello@emochi.run from the address on the account. We reply within thirty days, and we say so in advance if a request is complex enough to need longer. We may ask one confirming question before acting, purely to be sure the request is genuine.

23. European visitors

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights in section 21 apply to you under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.

24. California visitors

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, ask for deletion, and opt out of any sale or sharing. Emochi AI does not sell personal information, and exercising these rights never affects your service or pricing.

25. Other regions

Residents of Canada, Brazil, Japan, Australia, South Korea and other jurisdictions with comparable privacy laws may use the same contact route. We apply the standard most protective of you where obligations overlap.

26. Automated processing

Replies from companions are generated automatically, and automated checks help flag abusive or fraudulent use. Where an automated decision could suspend your access, you may ask a person to review it.

27. Third-party links

Some pages link to sites we do not control. Once you follow such a link, their policy governs what happens to your information, and we encourage you to read it before entering anything.

28. Data breaches

If an incident affects your personal data in a way likely to cause you harm, we notify you and the relevant authority within the deadlines the law sets, and we explain in the notice what happened and what to do next.

29. Changes to this policy

When we revise this policy we update the date at the top. Material changes are announced by email or by a notice inside the chat interface before they take effect.
